Hey / Hola Everyone! 

In the wake of the death of George Floyd, many protests across the nation have taken place.  I joined the protest of #BlackLivesMatter in Washington, DC in solidarity with the movement to bring change to our country and it's systemic racism problem. 

At the same time because of the intense heat as we enter summer, I noticed a large number of plastic water bottles overflowing in the city trash bins as they were not intended for crowds of 5,000+ daily. 

Unfortunately, I had to file for Unemployment because of Covid19.  On a positive note, this has given me more free time.  This is also when I decided to volunteer on my own to help KEEP DC CLEAN.  My mission was/is to try to recycle and organize as much as trash possible to keep the now Black Lives Matter Plaza clean.  In order to do this, we have to buy contractor bags, PPE, and any other supplies that we may need to get creative to pick up the material left behind in the most efficient way possible.  

I've been doing this since May 31st day and the outpouring support from my friends, family and total strangers has been amazing.  Without your kindness, we wouldn't have been able to buy all the supplies out of pocket. 

It has been my way of giving back to my community while peacefully protesting.

Through this GoFundMe, I hope to support our volunteer work and any initiative by individuals nationwide who are doing the same in their communities.

We also expect large crowds on Juneteenth & the March on Washington on August 28th, 2020.
