Blackhawk Lil Cougars Guardian Caps

Will you please consider joining us in making a difference to help keep our kids even safer on the football field? The Blackhawk Lil Cougars Youth Football Organization partnered with Guardian Sports to outfit all our players with Guardian Caps during the 2023 season.

The Blackhawk Lil Cougars are pleased to announce that they are joining the growing number of professional teams, colleges, high schools and youth leagues across the country that have implemented the Guardian Cap helmet covers for football players within the organization. Guardian Caps are soft shell helmet covers that reduce the force of blows to the head and other extremities.

The safety of our student-athletes is our number one priority. As a youth organization, we want to ensure that we are doing everything possible to ensure the safety of our kids and avoid unnecessary injury to the head or body by reducing helmet impact during practice. We also want to assure our parents that we are doing everything possible to make the game as safe as possible for our children.

In 2017, Guardian won the NFL HeadHealthTECH Challenge. In 2020, the Guardian Cap was seen on multiple NFL teams for practices. After a year of data collection and lab testing that showed a “statistically significant” improvement over bare helmets alone, the NFL permitted Guardian Caps in the 2021 season. In early 2022, the NFL owners announced that the League would be mandating the use of Guardian Caps during the early part of 2022 training camp for all OL, DL, TEs, and LBs.

We plan to outfit ALL of our players with Guardian Caps. Guardian Sports is working with our organization to make this financially achievable, but we need your help to accomplish our goal.
