Blackburn Centurions- Keep us swimming strong!

Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,

Established in 1878, Blackburn Centurions has been the leading competitive swimming club within Blackburn with Darwen alongside promoting health and wellbeing within our community. Our club isn't just about swimming; it's about building confidence, teamwork and lifelong friendships. We provide a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities ensuring they develop their skills and pursue their dreams.

However, maintaining and growing a volunteer-driven club comes with significant costs, the main one being pool hire. Our primary focus is ensuring our swimmers have access to the best possible training and facilities, whilst we continue to deliver high quality and excellent training programmes. We have children aged between 8 and 20 years, all working hard to achieve their potential. The club provides competitive opportunities that extend to local, county, regional and national competitions. Unfortunately, we are now facing a financial shortfall that threatens the future of our beloved club.

Why We Need Your Help / Our Goal

It currently costs over £60,000 per year for local pool hire for Blackburn Centurions to train. Every penny raised will go directly into supporting the club and its' swimmers. We are urgently aiming to raise a minimum of £10,000 to prevent our closure in the coming months.
