Blackbrook, West End Road Residents

I am fundraising for the residents of West End Road at Blackbrook that have once again been devastated by a flood from the Sankey Canal bursting its banks and a pump failure.

This has happened before and from first hand experience, I know how utterly devastating it can be.

There are several houses in that row who all need help. Christmas presents ruined, appliances left unusable, furnishing’s destroyed, homes without power.

Imagine waking up to this on New Years Day. Complete chaos, stuck upstairs in their homes.

If I can make something clear, there is another go fund me page which was setup, however, that is for a single specific resident on the row of houses affected. That page was setup by a friend of theirs which is absolutely no problem. This page is to support the other residents also affected. It’s not an attempt to undermine anyone, I just think it’s only fair that others are afforded the same help.

Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to get insurance in a flood risk areas, it’s just quite expensive. I’ve read a lot of comments about people saying insurance companies will pay out. They should, but they will only cover certain things and it’s not always that easy as they want all kinds of evidence and receipts which a lot of people don’t keep.

If we can make it that little bit easier for some of them, I’m sure it would be very much appreciated.
