Blackbird's Medical Bills

Hi, my name is Leah, and I'm fundraising for Trisha & Blackbird. I met Birdie the day Trisha brought her home and had the pleasure of being her next-door neighbor for several years. My pup and Birdie are good buds.

Birdie was found to have a large tumor in her abdomen back in August. Trisha decided to have the tumor surgically removed.

Birdie's procedure went well and she was discharged from the UC Davis Teaching Vet Hospital. After recovering at home for a couple of days, Birdie took a turn and Trisha found herself rushing back to the hospital with just enough time to save Birdie's life.

Birdie wasn't healing and ended up with excessive swelling near the surgical site causing her stomach to not drain its own fluid, and the body to shut down. Birdie spent two days in critical care, and as she has moved to intermediate care the medical staff is working to address the area of concern.

Trisha has had to make tough decisions over and over during this process, each with a price tag attached. The $6,000 goal for this fundraiser is only a fraction of the overall cost of this journey, but it will help with the two unexpected days in the ICU. Please consider contributing to help Trisha and Birdie get back to some normalcy once Birdie has fully recovered.
