Hello all! My name is Ai & my partner is Ky. We're both Black & trans & trying to survive the pandemic. We have medical debt hanging over our head that'd I'd like to get rid of as soon as possible. This summer I was diagnosed with a rare chronic illness known as CHS that causes me to vomit severely for days on end. Since then I've gone through several bouts of hospitalization, each of which has put me through trauma. I've had to deal with EMTS, nurses & doctors either not believing in my suffering or not caring. I've gone through rounds of unnecessary testing when I already knew & communicated my diagnosis. I had to take multiple ambulances to the ER only to be sent home only to RETURN TO THE ER as quickly as the next day because I was still vomiting & had nowhere else to go. My last hospitalization lasted 3 days, but I spent a full 10 days vomiting without being able to keep so much as water in my stomach. I firmly believe I was dismissed and overlooked so frequently by so many "professionals" because they perceived me to be a black woman (which I am not, I am transmasc & genderfluid). The whole ordeal has been exhausting emotionally, physically & financially. My partner & I have been struggling to pay this debt ourselves but we're tired & we deserve better. I managed to get the first round of medical bills from this summer paid off through mutual aid, & I'm hoping to do the same in this case. The majority of the money raised will go towards paying these medical bills. We get repeated bills in the mail & calls every day. I'd like to get this over & paid for so they'll stop harassing us for the money. Another portion will go towards a new mattress for the both of us. Our current mattress is very old & causes Ky back pain daily. I'm tired of seeing her suffer from this, and we deserve a nice new mattress. The rest will go towards my medicine & continued treatment of my illness. I take medicine daily to help me digest food, and I visit a gastroenterologist that helps prevent things getting worse. These things are an ongoing cost that I'd love to have covered as well. Thank you so much for reading & I ask that you donate or share to help our little queer family survive & thrive.
