Black Queer immigrant seeking financial assistance

Hello, my name is Nerly and I’ve created this on behalf of a beloved community member who wishes to remain anonymous and is in desperate need of community support.

Their work contract is not being renewed as expected due to lack of grant funding- as that was their means of income as a researcher. They are in need of assistance to help transition to the start of their next contract and remain in Canada.

Subsidizing income as an English-speaking Black immigrant is strenuous & out of their field in Montreal. We are reaching out to our beautiful community in the hopes of alleviating financial stress for this person to get back on their feet and maintain their visa requirements.

ANYTHING helps, even a few dollars if that’s all you can spare.

We are hoping to reach a goal of $3000 to cover rent bills for the next 3 months, and additional living expenses including groceries and transportation costs.
