Black Mountain Home For Children Needs Our Help

For 25 years, Spoken For International Youth Outreach has been serving side by side with the amazing people from Black Mountain Home for Children, located in Black Mountain, NC. Every year we do summer camp at SOTO (Shepherd of the Ozarks) in Arkansas with these amazing brothers and sisters in Christ.

Hurricane Helene came up the east side of our country and right over and through the Black Mountain Home for Children property. The damage is unbelievable. A river nearby brought devastation onto the property and flooded most everything. Roads have been washed out, electricity is gone, and a mudslide also took place, destroying many buildings and hundreds of trees. THEY NEED OUR HELP!

For 25 years, Black Mountain Home for Children has been coming to SOTO to clear brush and chop down firewood for the camp to run year-round. What they have done for thousands has now turned on them in a way that could be so discouraging as they face the challenges of cleanup and rebuilding. But they are resilient and do not give up. They need water, gas, generators, medicine, propane, food, clothing, and much more.

Spoken For, the organization that I oversee, is raising money for Black Mountain Home for Children, that we will get to them so they can get the needed supplies and food. Even toilet paper is needed. Spoken For is raising the money in this GoFundMe campaign and will then send the money to the leadership of Black Mountain Home for Children. Black Mountain Home for Children will then, in turn, contact their resources to get the supplies to the property as quickly as possible as needed.

Please, any amount you can share will be so appreciated. 100% of the funds raised will be going directly to Black Mountain Home for Children. Spoken For will not be keeping any of the money.

UPDATE: Black Mountain Home For Children is a 501c3 non-profit located in Black Mountain, N.C.. I, Scott Werntz, run a 501c3 non-profit known as Spoken For International Youth Outreach, which has been around for the past 25 years. Spoken For is headquartered in Grapevine, Tx. Together, Spoken For and Black Mountain have worked side by side to run a summer camp for Group Home students along with many other Group Homes from across the Southwest region of the United States. The camp takes place each year in Harriet, Arkansas, at a place called Shepherd of the Ozarks. Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have traveled with me each summer to help put on the camp at SOTO. Black Mountain Home for Children comes each year a few days early to help clear land and chop firewood for the camp to run its generators and hot water heaters year round. When the hurricane hit Black Mountain's property, hundreds of trees came down and many buildings were damaged and or wiped out. They need our help. Teams of volunteers are going up to serve in the clean-up, and others have donated supplies and money. Once Go Fund Me releases the money, 100% will be sent over night by check to the accounting office of Black Mountain Home For Children. They in turn will take the funds donated and buy the needed supplies, fuel and equipment in order to proceed forward. Many have sent donations directly to Black Mountain Home For Children. Others are using this Go Fund Me to help with the cause. A list of all donors is being given to Black Mountain Home For Children staff in order to have a record of who has contributed and in order to be able to thank each of the donors. Spoken For is not keeping any of the money. Spoken For is paying for the fees that Go Fund Me charges so that none of the donations go towards any overhead with Go Fund Me or Spoken For.
