Black Family Housing After Incarceration Matters

URGENT REQUEST
Funds will go towards supporting a Black mom who's son recently got out of custody and she is seeking to secure sustainable and safe housing outside of Toronto. This much needed move will allow a Black youth to have a fresh start in moving on with his life after having been incarcerated. It will also allow mom to experience housing security by purchasing the family's first family home after having experienced multiple barriers and state violence channeled through countless avenues. Without access to generational wealth - this Black family is requesting community support to access what many take for granted - housing security and safety.
Community has come together in order to find a co-signer for a mortgage loan with the family . We are now in needs of funds to pay down the family's credit card debt in order to secure insurance for purchasing a family home. Please help us to make a transformation in this family's life in the form of reparations as this family's experiences of multiple barriers and experiences of forced migration and state violence.
This request is time sensitive in that the family is hoping to pay down their credit card debt immediately in order to secure funds needed to move forward with the process. Please give what you can and pass it on to your networks!
