Shared Journey, United Voice: Walking together for Black Infant Health

Uzazi Village is a nonprofit centering on Black and Brown families in maternal and infant healthcare. The walk aims to draw attention to the health inequities in Kansas City, MO, and the staggering black infant mortality rates. According to the City of Kansas City, MO, Health Department (KCHD) data from 2012-2016, the black infant mortality rate is 9.8 per 1,000 births, while the white infant mortality rate is 4.1 per 1,000 births.
