The Avondale Alliance for Racial Justice is hosting our Second Annual Black History Month Art Contest.  This year the theme is "Black Empowerment through Wellness: Strengthening Mind, Body and Spirit.” The contest is open to all elementary through high school aged students who live in Avondale or attend Avondale Elementary, DeKalb School for the Arts Elementary and High School, The Museum School, Druid Hills Middle School and Druid Hills High School.

 

We envision Avondale Estates to be an inclusive and more welcoming city to those who live, work, attend school or visit here. AARJ seeks your creative spirit to uplift hope in our community. The purpose of this contest is to create a vision for hope through a creative platform as we move towards accountability and healing for all. Artistic expression has been a beautiful foundation in the movements for equality and justice throughout history. We invite you to support our youth in sharing their feelings, inspirations and visions for change with us all.
