Hi, my name is Sienna, and I’m a Black female college student on the pre-med track, working toward a lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.

I didn’t choose medicine because it was easy or glamorous. I chose it because I’ve seen what it means to feel unheard in healthcare, and I know representation can save lives. As a Black woman in pre-med, I carry the responsibility of proving I belong in spaces that weren’t built with people like me in mind. But I’m determined to make it anyway.

Balancing school, work, and financial stress has been exhausting. Between tuition, textbooks, MCAT prep, application fees, and everyday living expenses, the cost of pursuing medicine adds up quickly. I give everything I have to my education, but the financial burden can make this path feel overwhelming at times.
