
Black Boy Joy Mentorship and Academic Program
I'm excited to announce that I'm hosting my first 'Angelic Troublemaker' Mixer and Fundraiser in 2020 to support Watts' very own Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary School, an LA Unified school located next to Jordan Downs Housing Development. They've recently launched a "Black Boy Joy" academic & mentorship program to support young African American male students excel in school and leadership. Cohosts include Kellie Hawkins, Rev. Sam Casey, Dr. Travis Bristol, Dr. D'Artagnan Scorza, Jeff Garrett, Jon Veras, and Building Leaders And Cultivating Change (BLACC) Fund. The event will feature DJ Browntown.
We will host the fundraiser on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 5 pm – 8 pm at Inner-City Arts in DTLA and will feature several amazing civic engagement leaders from the African American community.

All proceeds will go to Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary School. The Partnership for LA Schools supports Florence Griffith Joyner's academic success and will act as a fiscal sponsor for the event.
