My husband Joe has an incredible heart for ministry in the outdoors. He believes deeply that you can meet God in his creation in a way that is all its own. He has a passion to work in this type of ministry.
In June of this year, we found out that Joe would have the chance to make his dream a reality. He was accepted at Wheaton College's Northwoods campus, HoneyRock Camp in Wisconsin, where he would pursue a degree in Outdoor and Adventure Leadership. This training will open him up to pursue a job in camping ministry, a ministry near and dear to our hearts because it was working at a summer camp that we met, fell in love, and were married!
We were initially so excited by this amazing opportunity! How incredible it would be to live and work at a summer camp while getting a degree that would enable him to do this as a career!
As we learned more and more about this program, we realized that the financial strain was more than we ever expected. Already dealing with nearly $55,000 in student debt combined, and without full time employment upon relocating, this adventure is costing us dearly financially and emotionally.
Although the full cost of tuition is somewhat abated by a small scholarship and some additional loans, the vast majority of it is expected to come out of pocket. With the money you give, my husband will be able to continue in his program of study without being buried in debt.
We ask that you would prayfully consider giving to support Joe in his calling. We have heard so many times that God provides in unexpected and marvelous ways, and we are hoping that some of that could possibly come from the generosity of others. We are so grateful for any help you may be able to provide!
