Went to the ER on November 30th, thinking it was a run of the mill sort of illness, then through several MRI's, CT's and a Hida Scan, was told I had cancer of the Gallbladder, Liver, Bile Ducts and possibly more!  To say this was a shock, is putting it mildly.  So after a week in the hospital, I followed up with my G.I. who looked over my reports and told me that this was very, very serious!  He then recommended me to one of the top surgeons in Houston at St. Lukes.  After reviewing my reports/cd's, the surgeon said this needed to be taken care of swiftly because of the severity of the cancer & the speed in which it is traveling.  At his recommendation I am having surgery on the 20th to remove my gallbladder, the right side of my liver, check my bile ducts and remove and re-route if necessary, also check to make sure it has not advanced to my spleen or my small intestine.  He might recommend chemo, if it is needed after the surgery.  On top of all this, they also told me I need to have 2 exceptionally large kidney stones, one for each kidney, removed.  They are too large to pass on their own and will have to be blasted out.

Even with having insurance, this puts quite a strain on our funds.  With all the money the hospital is wanting "in advance", the doctor visits, the time taken off from work, parking fees, gas to and from the medical center, it seems like there is not enough to go around.  

We are asking for any and all help that can be given so as to not fall into the "Hospital Poor" house.  My husband and I are in our 60's and I still have quite a few years to go until my retirement, so I hope to beat this and still keep going on living and enjoying life! 

I am also asking that this be a quick fund raising as I need the money as soon as possible.  December 20th isn't that far away and the bills are already adding up from Memorial Hermann SE,  St. Lukes and the surgeon.

My husband has a severe heart condition and is on SSD and he does not need the stress this is causing us.  I joke and tell him I need him around to take care of me now!

Any funds that we have left over will be put to good use and give to someone else who is needing help.
