Wheelchair for Mobility
Donation protected
On 10 January 2024, I had my left leg amputated above the knee. I still have a long way to go before I’m in a prosthesis and it will be months before I’m able to be active in it. The wheelchair I left the hospital in is good for getting around the house, but I miss living an active lifestyle. I want to be able to take my kids on hiking trails and more easily be on the field for their sporting events. I want to rejoin the world, but I need a wheelchair that is designed for more than just short transit. I still don’t want it to be electric, because I enjoy the exercise I get from a manual wheelchair. However, even manual ones that are durable are expensive. As I’m on disability leave from work until I can walk again, money is tight. So I’m asking for help to get me back out into living life for myself and for my kids.
