As we all know, this time of year can be both joyous and aggravating even under the best of circumstances. Mob-scenes at the stores, disgruntled drivers cutting you off in traffic, online purchases not arriving in time, and holiday guests arriving far too early or far too late to be considered "fashionable" are all part of the season and can sometimes make our blood boil.
Our collegue and co-worker...our friend...Gladys Salamera and her family (Husband Joe and daughters Abbey-12 and Jasmine-8) are going through a difficult time right now. Joe just underwent open heart surgery a few days ago. He is recovering well right now, but even with insurance, medical bills for this type of procedure must be in the many thousands of dollars. So, in the spirit of the season, and in the spirit of friends helping friends, let's show Gladys and her family that they're not alone. Let's show the Salamera family that we're there for them. Let's remind ourselves that our aggravations this time of year are simply that - aggravations - compared to what others are experiencing.
