Smileys Recovery

Hello everyone, my name is Solina, but I go by Smiley. On July 29, while traveling to a friends on my electric scooter over in Hollywood, I managed to hit a pothole and was thrown face first into the middle of the street. Not only were my three front teeth cracked and broken, I also sustained a mandibular fracture on the right side of my jaw, and it had been completely knocked out of place. Immediately after the incident, I was taken to a hospital where they claimed they were unable to assist me.

Since then I have been unable to eat and speak normally. Yawning is one of the worst pains. The dislocation of my jaw has caused constant headaches, blurry vision and hearing that goes in and out. The first week I was unable to close my mouth to bite down, since it has been unable to open past 3 inches. I have been dealing with a broken face for two months, some areas were thankfully able to begin healing on its own . I’m on a diet based strictly on liquids and soft foods only. Unfortunately due to the accident, I have not been able to work.

I’m starting this GoFundMe because I am currently facing financial challenges due to the fact that my insurance will not cover the necessary fixes and realignments. Unfortunately it is seen as a “cosmetic” rather that a necessity. I’m asking for help so that I am able to receive these operations, which include a triple root canal, and a year and a half’s worth of braces to move my jaw back into the right place. 

Being in this vulnerable position has put a physical, mental, and emotional strain on my day to day life, so I’d like to thank you in advance for the much needed support and donations.
