My name is Jennie Moore and on Friday, December 28th, 2018 I was diagnosed with Cancer. Not just any Cancer but with a rare, aggressive form of cancer and it’s located in my pelvic region. I’ve had 25 rounds of radiation hoping the tumor would shrink, but it didn’t. It grew.
Surgery is my next step. It is a radical, drastic, life changing surgery but it gets the cancer. We’ve been to surgeons at NorthShore and University of Chicago and they are in agreement; I will need a Hemipelvectomy. This includes the loss of part of my leg and part of the left side pelvis.
The reason for this GoFundMe is because I will be out of work for quite some time and I will need so much support covering our regular bills and all the medical bills & devices that I will need that insurance doesn’t cover. I also have a son in college and he is a Type 1 Diabetic which is a costly disease as well! I don’t do this lightly as I am not used to asking for help. I donate my time to JDRF and I donate blood and I’m just there to help everyone including strangers when I can.
I want to thank everyone in advance for your help. Every little bit helps and if everyone could share this as well, it would mean so much!
Because so many scams have been in the news regarding GoFundMe, if you share, could you please just note that you know me or my family or friends? It just helps others know this is really legit.
I have a Caring Bridge page that has my journey that I will continue to upate.
