Hi, my name is Donnie, and I'm trying to help my wife's brother Bjorn and their family with an unexpected event that has shaken our family's world.

 

Bjorn Hetland, a supportive husband to his wife Fitz and a loving dad to his daughter Emma, suffered a stroke on Jan 30th, 2022. Because of this, Bjorn lost his ability to move his body and most of his ability to speak. Thankfully, Bjorn has made some minor improvements, which gives us hope that he can eventually recover, but he and his family will need our support until then.

 

 

 

 

 

Since his stroke, Bjorn has had to stay in hospitals in Edmonton and Hinton, far away from his home city of Grande Prairie. Because of this, his wife and daughter had to stay in hotels to be close to Bjorn, where they could offer him support.

 

Another challenge they face is the cost of rehabilitation equipment for Bjorn to rehabilitate in his home with his family once the hospital recommends that he begin his recovery at home.

 

Bjorn's family has faced immense challenges from this event, and I am hoping we can give them some much-needed support so that financial stresses aren't a concern for them.
