Journey to Parenthood!

Hi! We are The Ramirez Family. We got married in 2013 and have struggled with infertility for several years. It has been a journey of hope and heartbreak month after month. During COVID, we struggled to get in to see a specialist because fertility treatments were seen as “elective.” Our appointments were cancelled repeatedly for about 6 months. After getting a second physician referral at a different practice, we finally got to see a specialist in Charleston, SC. Our doctor is very experienced and has very high standards of practice. We were delighted to be blessed with such a knowledgeable physician. After our evaluation was completed, we were told that our chances of successfully conceiving with IVF was 15%. At this appointment, we discussed all of our options and determined that with the use of an egg donor and IVF, our success rate could be as high as 50-75% depending on how many eggs we receive. As you can imagine, this is a significant financial investment for a chance to expand our family! We understand this may seem unorthodox to others, but after much prayer and consideration, we feel led in our hearts that this is the right choice for us. We will be undertaking fundraising events to help offset the financial burdens of frequent travel expenses and infertility treatments.
