HEY EVERYONE…
Some of you know I’ve had hearing loss since childhood. It runs in my family; my mom, two brothers, two nieces, one nephew, and even my son all deal with it.
Before I had hearing aids, everyday conversations were a struggle. I constantly had to ask people to repeat themselves, especially working in a school environment. It was frustrating and, at times, isolating.
Back in 2017, I was blessed because many of you showed up for me through a GoFundMe, and I was able to get my first pair of hearing aids when I moved to Florida.
I was able to get hearing aids 5 years ago through my other insurance. Now, 5 years later, those hearing aids are wearing out. The battery doesn’t last a full day anymore, and it’s starting to affect my ability to function the way I need to at work, at home, and with people.
The cost for new hearing aids is $5,500. With insurance, I can reduce that cost. My issue is that I have a $1,900 deductible which can only be paid little by little when I go to the doctor, which I rarely do.
On top of that, after losing my job last year for several months, my family is still recovering financially. This just isn’t something I can handle on my own right now.
So I’m asking for help.
Any amount, big or small, gets me closer to getting the hearing aids. And just like before, I’ll share the journey by making a video and show you exactly how your support is making a difference.
I really appreciate you for taking the time to read this, and for standing with me.
