Hi, my name is Laura, and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my beloved sister Mary. She has been my best friend for as long as I can remember, and she is one of the most amazing people I know. She has such a positive spirit and a kind heart. She will always do anything for others and always puts others’ needs before her own.

Unfortunately, she has been blindsided by a major life-changing medical diagnosis.

On 7/29/22, Mary was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer) that had invaded multiple lymph nodes. She has already undergone a double mastectomy, which involved travel to Arizona to be operated on by a team of specialists. Due to the aggressive nature of her cancer, she has been given a very aggressive and lengthy chemotherapy, radiation, and endocrine therapy treatment plan spanning 7.5 months, followed by multiple reconstructive surgeries as quickly as scheduling permits. Overall, her treatment plan will most likely span 10.5 months. While Mary does have insurance that will help cover a percentage of the costs, she will still have considerable out-of-pocket expenses, in addition to loss of income due to reduced work hours. Mary is a single mother on fixed income, and If you know Mary, then you know she would never ask for help, so I am asking for her. A donation of any amount will be extremely helpful for Mary as she navigates these upcoming uncertain and scary months ahead.
