Help Katie C’etta Fight Breast Cancer

Katie is an impressive filmmaker, determined MBA student, full time digital marketing strategist, nurturing dog mom, incredibly empathetic friend, loving daughter, devoted partner, and all around funny, zestful 31-year-young woman.

She was misdiagnosed in February of this year, when she went into an imaging center only to be rushed through. Though she had a lump in her right breast and communicated other health issues, she left the site in tears after being quickly dismissed.

Due to a family history of breast cancer and prior needs for a biopsy, she followed up in June. The lump had grown significantly and so had Katie’s intolerance with the staff. She urged them to screen her again.

Chaos ensued as she was rushed to an ultrasound and mammogram. Katie was diagnosed with Triple Negative Stage 3 Breast Cancer in her right breast and near the lymph nodes.

Katie hopes that sharing this unfortunate experience will help to empower women to trust themselves and speak up about their healthcare needs. She shares, “Second opinions are now mandatory.”

Katie is starting down a long, brutal, and costly road to recovery. She will be taking on immunotherapy and chemotherapy in the coming months. She then plans to get a bilateral mastectomy to prevent recurrent cancer.
