Hello!
My name is Walter "Hinkie" Hamilton. I'm a husband, father, brother, uncle, bandmate, cohort, coworker, and friend of many. I come from a large, tight-knit family in Southern Middle Tennessee and have recently had the misfortune of a tragic car accident that has rocked my world.
On May 23rd, 2025, I had the rare pleasure of my wife and 19-year-old son (Walter III aka Tr3 ) accompanying me to a gig in Nashville. This was a very special occasion because it's rare that my immediate family members get the chance to come and watch me do my thing. It was a REALLY cool gig.
On the way home, we were in an accident that caused our car to roll over several times. I am grateful that my wife, son, and I survived. We each individually are under doctors' care and are rehabilitating from our injuries. My son (Tr3) had a dislocated hip. My wife suffered a broken wrist and had plastic surgery to reconstruct her dominant hand. She also suffered a few broken ribs. I have a twisted lower spine, shifted hips, and nerve issues down my left leg. We are all currently in rehab for these injuries.
Our car, unfortunately, was a total loss, which made the fact that it was paid off earlier this year a tragedy within itself. Along with the car, my bass and amp were also trashed in the wreckage. This amp was brand new and just happened to be the best combo amp I've ever had. My bass had been my staple for at least the past 12 years. It was my reliable workhorse. After the accident, we were hospitalized for several days, and my bass and amp were rained on to add insult to injury.
Prior to this accident, we were already down a car. We are now down 2, and while working full-time M-F, I have been enrolled in weekend classes for over a month now. (Yeah, things are definitely tough right now!)
I'm starting this campaign to reach out to my friends, my family, and those who would like to make a difference in our family's life. We are trying to make up for not only the added expenses from the wreck but also the loss of my supplemental income. I also have equipment, including my bass, combo amp, and tablet, to replace.
We still have quite a ways to go, and we also know it is better when the people who love you sign up for the ride. We hope that we can count on you to help us along the way.
Thank you in advance and God bless you all.✊
