Elizabeth had been thru a lot this year already! She has been in the hospital for her gastroparesis and motility issues resulting in her having to get a NJ tube placed. She has found a brilliant GI doctor and will be a candidate for a stomach pacemaker soon.
Since May her health has not been well. She has seizure like activity that doctors in Wisconsin can not figure out. We headed to New York to see our neurosurgeon and he has found the problem. In 2012 Elizabeth had Chiari 1 malformation decompression along with cranial fusion. Her occipital nerve is being irritated and inflamed by the rods that are under it. She needs to have cranial fusion revision and right rhyzotomy of c2 and c3 surgery. (Sept. 1st) The doctor will cut and file (even remove if necessary ) all the metal in her neck and skull along with cutting out the occipital nerve.
We are in need of help with travel, food, loss of wages from my husband's work, insurance money (again from the loss of my husband's hours from work) and medical expenses. We have been thru many surgeries in our family due to Chiari 1 malformation and Ehlers-danlos syndrome and have never asked for help. Seeing all the procedures and hospital stays already this year (with this surgery on September 1st and another in the winter with the pacemaker ) we are in need of help!
