BJ Candella Laid to Rest & Help for Kids

Baldassaro Joshua (B.J.) Candella passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2023, from a heart attack in his sleep. The namesake of his Italian great grandfather who arrived at Ellis Island in the early 1900s, B.J. brought laughter and fun to all that knew him. He leaves behind his two young children, Boston (14) and Skye (12), along with his sister, Stacey and parents Linda and Frank Candella. B.J. was an incredible father, always making his children his priority. He was a best friend and brother to his sister who was used to texting and talking to him every day, and an incredible son to his parents. He took care of them, spoke to them every day, and loved nothing more than family gatherings, where he frequently requested his mother’s famous spaghetti.

A sports enthusiast, he spent his life rooting for The Dallas Cowboys. Even though that was often more painful than he had hoped most seasons, he shared his love of everything Cowboys with both his children. If he was not watching or talking about sports, you could find him at the nearest movie theatre with Boston and Skye. He loved to talk about movies and streaming television with his family, who always relied on him to provide witty reviews of the best and worst on screen.

B.J. loved to travel and take his kids on vacation. His love for a good hotel and late-night room service were highlights of their trips together. He loved Las Vegas and Destin, Florida. They took frequent road trips and visited beaches up and down the coast.

Aside from his gift for fatherhood, he will be most remembered for his intelligent wit and sense of humor. He had a gift for making people laugh. Some people purchase tickets for music concerts, but B.J. was a fan of big comedy shows in venues across the country.

Anything given via Go Fund Me will go to help his parents with his celebration of life arrangements, and his children with their needs, as his ex-wife, Kris Candella will be solely responsible for providing their needs over the next several years, including college.
