This fund-raising campaign by Redeemer Church of Fremont is to help the families of Robert Bixby Sr and Bob Bixby Jr families, associated with the sudden death of Robert Bixby Sr.
On February 26, 2017, pastor, missionary, husband and father Robert Bixby passed away from this world into the presence of the LORD. In his passing, he left behind a legacy of a life marked by faithfulness, compassion and humility. However, his impact has not only been felt from his personal ministry alone; Robert left his mark through the influence that he has had on his children and grandchildren.
Bob Bixby, Robert Bixby's eldest son, has been serving the body of Christ for over 25 years in churches and ministries around the world and is currently serving as the lead elder of our church, Redeemer Church, here in Fremont, CA. Our church's leadership and church family believe that these servants of Christ should be honored for their faithful service to Christ in this time of loss and remembrance.
As one would imagine, there are a lot of costs that will quickly accrue as the Bixby family seeks to honor their father and servant of Christ. In addition to the two funeral services that will take place (one in France and one in the States) and the travel that will be necessary to attend these services; there will be many needs as the family continues to help Mrs. Bixby Sr pack up her estate in France accumulated after many years of ministry overseas and move her back to the US.
We are a small, young church plant here in CA. If we could afford to bear these expenses ourselves as a church body, we would. However, we cannot. We believe that God has used Robert Bixby and the greater Bixby family to serve Him and to proclaim a Gospel ministry all over the world which has affected thousands of people. And we believe that there are many who would want to show their love and honor to the family in a tangible way as they go through this time of recovery and remembrance. So, we have created this page to provide an opportunity to fill that need.
If you feel compelled to give, this is what your monies will go toward:
- Travel expenses for Bob Bixby as he travels back to France for the funeral and to assist his mother, Mrs. Bixby Sr, manage the affairs left to her.
- Travel expenses for Bob Bixby and his family to travel to South Carolina for the funeral that will be taking place in the States.
- Any additional expenses that will accrue during this recovery period.
- Help for off-setting any other needs or expenses for Mrs Bixby Sr and the other Bixby family members, if necessary.
All funds received will be managed by the elders and leadership of Redeemer Church in Fremont, CA. Any funds received above and beyond the goal set will continue to be used to continue to serve the specific needs related to this matter.
In offering this avenue of giving and provision, we do not wish to be a burden to anyone. We only ask you to give if you feel that this is something that you would like to do to honor and serve this family. Often flowers can be a great token of condolence for families in this situation, and flowers are always appreciated. However, consider in this case using the money that you would use to purchase flowers to help care for the expenses listed above.
