I am currently in the middle of production for Bittersweet: The Candy Samples Story, a documentary that celebrates the life and legacy of Candy Samples. Candy is a beloved drag performer who has inspired many with her joy, resilience, and humor, especially in the face of aging and illness. Through intimate interviews and vérité footage, this film aims to honor LGBTQ+ history and the vibrant spirit of queer elderhood, sharing stories that are often overlooked but deeply meaningful.

This project is close to my heart, and every donation will help pay our talented editors, cameramen, and crew who are working hard to bring Candy’s story to the screen. I also hope to give Candy Samples a paycheck for her time and generosity, which she may choose to donate to a charity in her honor.
