On April 29th, 2021, our family finally felt the true unforgiving wrath of COVID-19. The veil that embodied our illusion of invulnerability was finally lifted and tragically, we lost the figurehead of our family to secondary complications of the novel coronavirus. The beloved, selfless parental figure that my mother, brother, and I deeply revered as our best friend, all-knowing guide, and most wholehearted supporter, was stripped from our grasp, all too soon and all too suddenly.
Now, as we traverse a frightening, unpredictable unknown, we're forced to sacrifice the life we once knew for a life that we don't. Stretched thinly between the crushing pillars of unending bills, emotional trauma, and ongoing individual commitments, the challenges that loom before us seem exponentially larger and insurmountable, especially in the company of financial hardships. Although the hole wrenched out of our hearts will never be fully filled, the love, care, and support we have received from our friends and family has been a tremendous blessing towards mending our tattered familial spirit. As we pick our broken pieces up, raise our heads towards the slightly-emptier life that awaits us, and work to reaffirm our purpose in his wake, we are reminded of the wonderful that we were so incredibly blessed to call the leader of our family. Everyday, we celebrate the selfless sacrifices he made for us and strive to provide for others the way he did for us.
Thus, this Go Fund Me campaign has been launched to cover various living expenses as well as post-death arrangements and medical/therapy expenses. Any help is appreciated and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much for your support.
COVID-19 is no walk in the park and the number of devastating losses suffered by so many families worldwide do not need to continue mounting exponentially. So let's all do our part. Mask diligently, distance carefully, live fruitfully, take great care of your loved ones, and give thanks everyday
We love you, Dad ✝
