Bistarkey Family Fundraiser
Hi, my name is Chelsea, and along with Lee Ann, we're setting up this fundraiser on behalf of our friend Dawn Bistarkey and her husband Bruce. Dawn has been out of work due to some medical issues for over a year, leaving Bruce to provide for their family. Unexpectedly last week, Bruce lost his eyesight in one eye. After doctor's visits, surgery, and a hospital stay, he is finally able to come home, but will be out of work for a few weeks. This leaves them with no source of income for the foreseeable future.
This fundraiser seeks to help them cover their mortgage and bills for the next few months along with any other unexpected costs that may arise from this.
Dawn is one of the kindest people we know who would do anything for anyone. We hope to help give back to her and her family during this incredibly scary and challenging time.

"For those that don’t know, Bruce has been seeing a retinal specialist for over a week and then had to have to get emergency surgery at Mercy on his eye. They diagnosed him as legally blind. He couldn’t see anything at all. He has been in there since last Tuesday. He has been classified as legally blind in his left eye which happened while he was at work last Monday. And it just kept getting worse. He at one point couldn’t see anything. He had fluids drawn from his eye and 3 more injections straight into his eye during the doctor's visits. Once in the hospital, he got his surgery which was a bit over an hour. He went in on Tuesday and finally will be discharged tomorrow (Monday) Finally!!! But the discharge doesn’t come easy. He can’t do anything for 4 weeks. He has a pic line and will have iv antibiotics for 4weeks. (he tried to take a shower today and be the nurse was worried about him pulling away from the antibiotics even 15 minutes) We will have a home health nurse coming to advise and help in the upcoming days and weeks.
I’m so stressed about our bills and how we are going to get by. If he doesn’t work he doesn’t get paid! I have so many medical issues that I haven’t worked in over a year! This so scared the hell out of me!!! I’m usually not open like this at all but this really has me worried. Please pray if you do.
