On Sunday, January 24, Kris Wattelet (our father) suffered a massive stroke. He was taken to Mercy One hospital in Des Moines, where he was rushed into surgery to remove blood clots on his brain. His condition was very critical and we are thrilled that he is now making some progress. We are trusting in God for complete healing.
He still has a long road of rehabilitation and physical therapy ahead of him. They have insurance, but this is still going to result in major medical bills.
Our dad just recently retired from full-time ministry. He was a minister with the Church of God (Cleveland) for over 25 years. He and our Mom pastored in Illinois, Iowa, and South Dakota.
Over the years our parents have touched the lives of so many people. They have been abundantly generous to those in need. We are hoping now that others will do the same for them.
Please don’t talk to Kathleen (our Mom) about this. She already has a lot on her plate and we don’t want her to worry about anything else right now. We are asking for your help to cover some of the medical bills and living expenses as our mom will not be able to work while she takes care of Dad for awhile. We know these are trying times for everyone. Any contribution, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. It will be a huge blessing for our parents, who have been a blessing to so many people.
If you have questions on other ways to donate or help out, please contact Jessica Evans (Kris and Kathleen’s daughter) at [phone redacted] for mailing addresses, etc. Any type of help is greatly appreciated!
Love, Jessica and Justin, Jolene and Brad, Gabrielle and Jesse
