BISH got a KIDNEY!!!!

Hello everyone…this account was created for Bishara and his family to raise money to help them with the expenses of the transplant surgery costs. Thank you all so much!

As many of you know, Bishara received the miracle of a transplant on July 17, 2021. With this miracle comes the happiness of a new life, but the hardship of expensive transplant costs. This gofundme account was created in response to the question, “what can we do for you?” This was made to help us with the expenses for the surgery transplant, although we have insurance a lot of the costs are not included and we have to pay for it ourselves. We appreciate all your help, and thank you to everyone who has been alongside us through this difficult journey of life!

This is the story:

December 2014 we received the worst news, my husband Bishara was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure (ESRD). He is only 42 years old and is currently on PD Dialysis at home everyday for 10 to 11 hours every night. It is one of the hardest things to live with, hooked up to a machine all night losing the oportunity to live outside your bedroom and move freely or just simply do normal things with our two daughters Chloe (12) and Camila (9). 

Our best case scenario is to find a donor for a kidney transplant so Bishara can live normal again, he has a lot of plans for the future and loves life and his family. 

This disease camouflages so well that by looking at Bishara you will never guess what he is going through and how sick he really is. 

His kidney function is less than 8% in both kidneys. It is a very invasive disease and very difficult to live with it for all of us, we are trying our best to keep positive and hopeful but we need a little bit of everyones help. 

If anyone is interested or knows anyone interested to get tested to donate a kidney for Bishara's transplant, please message me and feel free to share this post with all your contacts, as many times as you can. The more people we reach the better chance we have to find a donor!

Update (sept 2019): Bish is still in desperate need of a kidney transplant and that “call” hasn’t arrived yet. We are hoping for a live donor, he needs it desperately and we need it too. He is no longer on PD Dialysis because that treatment stopped cleaning as well and his health was deteriorating. Early June he started doing Hemodialysis three times a week for 5 hours in a center, so his blood can get clean. 

This is a harder treatment on him and on us, his family, but it is the only choice for now, we hope this is temporary and we can find a kidney for him, a live donor or a transplant.

Update 17 of JULY 2021!!!!!!!

Today Bishara was given the gift of life with a transplant at MUSC Charleston. We were lucky enough to get the call after 6 years of long wait and hard dialysis Bishara got transplanted.
