Hi, our names are Ash and Shannon Grimm. As many of you know, our dog Biscuit was diagnosed with Type B Stage 3a Lymphoma back in June. Biscuit is more than just a dog to both of us, and means the absolute world to Shannon, who has been his owner since he was born.
We elected to proceed with Chemotherapy treatments for Biscuit, which have put him into remission. We started his weekly treatments back in June, but we’ve had a few unexpected turns along the way. This included trips to the Emergency Vet for a seizure, vestibular disease, a bad reaction to one of the chemo drugs and an allergic reaction to a bee sting! Many of these items have run our bills WAY higher than we ever anticipated. Needless to say, Biscuit hasn’t had an easy summer.
Biscuit has already completed 3 full rounds of CHOP protocol chemo at VCA Aurora. Just this week, we had imaging and a biopsy done of his liver and spleen to check and make sure the cancer isn’t spreading, and that he is continuing to heal. We are anxiously awaiting those results to find out if we need to continue with more chemotherapy treatments.
It is very unlike us to ask for help, but with the economy the way it is, other unexpected expenses, and the ER trips, we have gotten desperate. We want to continue to give Biscuit the best care we can and give him the best quality of life possible, but we realize we need some assistance. Between all of the bloodwork, imaging, biopsies, medication, special food, and driving back and forth to these appointments, we have spent over $10,000.
Any help at all will be more than appreciated. Biscuit has made his mark on so many lives, we are hoping a few of you can return the favor for him. All proceeds will go directly to his current vet bills, and those he has yet to incur.
Thank you.
