Hi,
My name is Lucas, and at the end of last year myself and my partner Natalia completed a 200 mile trip to rescue a ferret named Biscuit, who was with the RSPCA. Biscuit had been with them for a while, and was struggling to find a suitable family to be adopted into. We believed that we were that fit, and Biscuit was introduced to our business (group of ferrets!).
Biscuit has grown to love the space, care and attention he gets from ourselves and his siblings. Being a young ferret, he's been incredibly energetic, and loves playing as much as he loves sleeping.
Recently Biscuit's behaviour has changed, and we'd also noticed a mass growing on his leg. He's also started to lose his fur, which are concerning symptoms for a ferret his age (he's roughly 3 years old). Worried, we took him to the vets to seek advice for what could be wrong with him.
The vet has had a look and decided that the mass will need surgery for removal and testing. Additionally, they are in agreement that Biscuit is displaying early symptoms of adrenal disease- a lifethreatening condition for ferrets due to overproduction of sex hormones.
The proposition is to sedate Biscuit, remove the mass from his leg & give him an implant to help combat the Adrenal. Small animals do not benefit from multiple sedations, therefore these two treatments need to be completed simultaneously.
We therefore humbly ask for any help you can give to help us meet the cost of ensuring that Biscuit, who did not have the start to life he deserved, can continue with the quality of life we've tried so hard to give him.
Thank you.
