Birthday Miracles for SafeNest

Hello friends, recently myself and some friends threw a party for the kids and mothers of SafeNest, a domestic violence shelter.  Some of you were there helping or heard me chatting about it.  I’ll never forget the smiles and happiness I got to witness during the party. Hooters, a company I've been with for almost a decade played a huge part in the party's success. Many of my fellow Hooters Girls volunteered their time, Hooters supplied the food and we had generous donations from Preferred Electric and Safe Ride.   We had balloons, lunch, cupcakes, and a present for each child.  The SafeNest party was a hit!
That day was more than just a party for those mothers and their children. It was a chance to relax for a few hours and not worry about the struggles they are going through.  At the end of the day a mom said to me "Thank you so much for this, it's my daughter's birthday this month, and I wasn't sure what I was going to do." Hearing this touched me heart. These moms deserve a break and these kids deserve to be celebrated. Which got me thinking, why not have a party EVERY month for the kids at the shelter?? So here I am, asking for your help to do just that.  Your donations and sharing can make this happen!

These monthly Birthday parties will bring so much joy to the people at SafeNest. Not only will the Birthday kiddos get to feel special, the rest of the kids and moms will get to enjoy it and have a carefree FUN day.

This is a project I've started on my own with the support of Hooters and various donations along with enthusiastic permission from SafeNest.  I’m working closely with the director of the Childrens Program for SafeNest but I am not an official volunteer yet.  I'm going through their training program in the near future to be an official volunteer and will hopfully get to work with the kids at the shelter on a weekly basis.  

The money I'm raising will help pay for 

-Party venues 

-Food, cake, drinks

-Party favors and decorations

-PRESENTS for each Birthday kid
