Birthday-in-a-Box for Family Shelters
Tax deductible
Can you imagine being a child, living in a family shelter or transitional housing, and missing a birthday party on your special day? These children have lost so much — their homes, their friends, their neighborhoods. A child's birthday party shouldn't be another thing they lose!
During the pandemic, Habitot hasn’t been able to offer birthday parties in the museum for children experiencing homelessness, as we had for the past six years. Hence, the "Birthday-Kit-in-a-Box" was born! And our shelter partners are enthusiastic!
With your help, we can give dozens of children living temporarily in East Bay family shelters a memorable birthday party complete with a personalized, themed cake, colorful candles, active party games, art activities, bubbles, decorations, and more. We guarantee happiness while children play together on their special day!
Our Go Fund Me Campaign will raise enough funds to provide 120 birthday parties through ten East Bay family shelters. Each shelter will receive a complete "Birthday-in-a-Box" with enough supplies to put on 12 parties, one a month, for up to 60 participating children per year.
Your gift of $100 will give the complete birthday party package to one child. A small price for a big smile!
And for every $650 we raise, we’ll be able to provide a "Birthday-in-a-Box" to one family shelter for 12 parties. As always, gifts of any amount — no matter how large or small — will make a difference!
About Habitot Children's Museum: Help celebrate Habitot’s 23rd Birthday with your contribution to this campaign. Since 1998, Habitot’s hands-on discovery museum, designed for the youngest learners and their families, has provided unique exhibits for immersive play, art activities, and social learning experiences to help enrich children's critically important early years. We invest in the whole family with parenting success workshops, training, and in-museum parent-child engagement. We build community by reaching out to and welcoming the most vulnerable children and families — those experiencing homelessness, foster and adoptive families, formerly incarcerated parents, children with special needs, teen parents, recent immigrants, and refugee families. For questions or for more information about this campaign, please email [email redacted] Thank you!
