Last year, when I officially became a pensioner, I decided to forgo a party and instead do something positive for all of us. Last year I was horrified by the blatant rape of prisoners of war. This is still happening, particularly in the DRC. That's the 'think global' part. However, the 'act local' pertains to the unbelievably widespread practice of men drugging their partners and filming them being raped by themselves and other men. Gisèle Pelicot's rapists were just the tip of the iceberg, it seems!!

My heart goes out to all survivors of rape. What I can do is raise the profile and raise money for Rape Crisis England & Wales. If you want to donate to organisations where you live, please do and let me know!

I'm going to train to run 5K on a Saturday morning around the time of my birthday, currently five weeks away. I'll be doing a flat Parkrun, so will endeavour to beat last year's time. Though it's unlikely! Can't say I've kept it up! Here's this morning's effort. Btw, it's a good long time since I ran second claim for Belgrave!!
