Send Christina to Clown School in France

It is said that you get one GoFundMe in your lifetime… and if you’re lucky it’s for something creative. I’ve already had cancer so it’s too late for that GoFundMe. Also I’m lucky to be alive, so there’s that.

I’m turning 40 and I have been downsizing my physical possessions as I prepare to embark on long-held dream. I’ve been accepted to study acting and clown at École Philippe Gaulier in France in Spring 2025 and I'll need help to make it a reality. Gaulier is an acting conservatory whose alumni include Emma Thompson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter and Roberto Benigni. I know I'm already a sensitive and prophetic performer (see: 2024 PBS documentary “The Art of Clown”). Being at Gaulier will allow me much needed time and space to get further into my craft and my body. I’ve studied clown with many talented mentors who have come through this program and now it’s time for me to continue my work in the fatherland. I researched lots of MFA programs before this past year as I've been working out where I want my professional and creative life to go and I'm very happy to have landed at École Gaulier - clown shcool less expensive than grad school and it’s a more sanguine midlife crisis than writing a divorce memoir.

The program runs April 28 - July 5, this amount will cover tuition and housing for that time. Anything you can give is much appreciated! I will be teaching more writing workshops in the new year to raise funds as well.
