BIRTHDAY BLUES Short Film Fundraiser

Hey everyone, I’m a filmmaker called Zinha (Emma Morgan-Bennett) and I’m proud to have written and be directing my first fiction short film called Birthday Blues this March!

Birthday Blues tells the story of a 25 year old named Tony who’s having a pretty tough birthday and feeling the pressure of growing up. Luckily for him, he meets some fierce Harlem Sistas and stumbles into a magical realm and a dance floor where you never grow up.

I’m incredibly grateful to be joined by a crew of amazing creatives; Genevieve Waller Whelan choreographing; Stella Royo as our Director of Photography; Amani Jiu producing; and James Mollison composing. Leading our cast are Tristao Darius and Kai Williams.

We are aiming to reach $5,000 by the end of February. We’ve currently raised $2,000, so I’m asking you to please help us reach our fundraising goal of $3000. With an independent and micro budget film, every $100 makes such a difference. It will provide our team with support for editing, film festival submission fees, and hiring lighting and sound equipment that will make the difference in bringing our film to the professional spaces we know Birthday Blues can compete and thrive in.

As a thank you to our incredible community, anyone who makes any size donation will be listed in our credits. Anyone who donates $100 or more will be invited to a family and friends screening event. Those of you able to pitch in $250 or more will receive a limited edition & signed poster after our film release. And anyone who donates $500 or more, Amani will get in touch about the opportunity to be listed as an Executive Producer.
