HI! My name is Jerry Wilkie and I'm here to ask you to help me buy a bassoon for my birthday!

I've been playing the bassoon since my freshman year of high school, so just close to SIX years, and in all that time, I've never owned my own bassoon. I was lucky that my high school had a couple of bassoons (not amazing ones because we're talking about public school instruments) for me to use. I ended up playing a broken-down plastic Selmer bassoon for my four years of high school.

It wasn't until my time in college that I had the opportunity to play a real wooden bassoon, and as soon as I held it, I fell in love. Unfortunately, since the bassoon was only loaned to me during my time in college, once I finished my degree requirements I had to return it. So, since then I have been bassoon-less.

BUT I've recently come across a beautiful Fox Renard Model 240 bassoon for sale. The owner and I have met and decided on setting up a payment plan starting in September. So I want to use my birthday month as a time to raise some of the money for it. The bassoon cost $10,000 but I'm looking to raise half of the price, $5,000 so that I can pay off the other half on my own. $5k is the goal, but if we raise more than the goal, I would be so very grateful for everything that might come to me. Every little bit counts! A share or repost would help me as well.

This is something I've had my eyes set on doing for a long time, and now that I potentially have the chance to own my very own bassoon, I won't let it pass me.
