Birth Day Fundraiser!

Hi everyone! Zaire's partner Ale here! This Thursday will be Zaire's 33rd rotation around the sun and I wanted to raise $3,333 dollars by the end of July to celebrate their Jesus year! When I asked them what they wanted for their b-day this year, they jokingly said they wished close friends would be able to fundraise some money they could use to treat themselves on their b-day without having to worry about whether it would take away from the money they have been able to raise to survive. I thought to myself well why can't we do that?
When we met, Zaire would often tell me about how they couldn't have imagined making it to 30 years old- let alone 33. For those who don't know, Zaire is a disabled, fat, Black trans person living in Oakland who has been hustling to raise funds to access the basic necessities such as health care, therapy, rent, and other day to day expenses to live.
They have been receiving some funds as a response to the call in support of Black lives, but I wanted to create this fundraiser for them to be a source of cultivating Black joy for them. If we want to support Black survival, we need to support all aspects: joy, happiness, not only when there is an emergency. If you are invested in the well-being of Black trans folks, please consider donating and circulating this fundraiser!
