Help Make Safe, Natural Birth Available to Low-Income Mothers & Their Families
Need funding for a New Birth Center serving all families including Medi-Cal clients in San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Counties. We will be taking families into our care starting in March 2021 and we will be opening the center by July 2021.
My name is Erin Ashley, I am a Licensed Midwife. I have just recently moved to the San Luis Obispo area and am beginning a professional midwifery practice in this Central California region.
During these difficult pandemic times, we have seen a huge increase in demand for more home-based, birth center birth and remote services by pregnant mothers everywhere. Furthermore, the ease and comfort of being amongst close family members in a natural, private setting not only reduces the mothers’ stress, but also promotes safety and reduction in exposure to Covid-19.
My dream is to be able to provide affordable midwifery care to all mothers from any income range. Very few mothers in this area can afford to choose the safe, alternative option of having their babies delivered in a registered birth center, and there is no availability of one currently here to Medi-Cal patients.
I am looking to raise $11,000 in 2021 to open a new birth clinic & center to help these deserving women bring happy babies into this world. Your money will make it possible to provide:
July 2021 Update: We moved into our new building July 6th, 2021. It is located at 134 S Halcyon Rd, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420.
The building will provide the following:
-A Prenatal Clinic
-1 large Birth Suite for expecting mothers to safely birth in that desire a birth center birth outside the hospital
-A Heated Aqua Doula Birthing tub which help ease my clients through difficult labors- "the midwives epidural"
-An adjoining waiting room for family members and friends
-Medical supplies and equipment to ensure safety and success
-A teaching area to provide education and support
Intimate Journey Birth & Wellness is proud to announce that we are now a Medi-Cal/ CenCal Health Provider.
That means if you have Medi-Cal/CenCal Health your prenatal, labor, birth, postpartum and newborn care at my birth center will be completely covered.
Again, 100% of all donations will go directly to this necessary and vital cause.
