✨Help the Asheville Birth and Wellness Center Team cover lost wages post Hurricane Helene✨
On September 27, Hurricane Helene swept through Asheville and surrounding areas, leaving a trail of destruction in it's wake. The community birth center, dedicated to providing a caring and supportive environment for families during their most precious moments, has been profoundly impacted. Although still standing, the building is located in Asheville where clean water has not yet been restored. Without potable water, the birth center team is not able to support births in the space. It is currently operating at limited capacity, caring for patients who have not evacuated the area.
Due to the ongoing water situation, the staff is only able to receive a percentage of their salaries since delivering babies provides over half of the funds coming in. Despite not receiving their full pay, the team is still caring for the community in any way that they can by offering in person prenatal visits and Telehealth. More resources are needed in order to sustain the work they are doing.
I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to provide financial relief for these incredible individuals who have devoted their lives to nurturing new beginnings. The funds raised will directly assist in covering lost wages so that they can continue to care for their patients and prepare the birth center for the moment it is able to be fully open for births.
Every dollar raised will make a significant difference in their lives. We believe in the power of community, and together, we can help our birth center employees recover from this crisis.
Please consider donating, sharing this campaign, and spreading the word. Your kindness and support will empower these remarkable individuals to rebuild their lives and continue their essential work in our community.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion during this challenging time.
