Hello, this is my sweet gal Birdie, she’s a 1 year old catahoula pup and she means the world to me. Unfortunately, last night she was injured by a spiked fence in a bush line that was used to cover a hole. The spike hit her directly in the chest causing a large gash, and tearing into her muscle and causing a fracture in her sternum. She’s currently in stable condition but is being hospitalized due to air being present in her chest cavity from the wound. The vets say it can cause issues with lung expansion. Secondly she’s at risk of infection due to the large wound being open. They’ve flushed the wound and stitched it up, they will be monitoring her for the next 24hrs and sending her home with me to home for the best. As this is any unexpected event I’m unfortunately struggling financially with the cost of medical fees for the care needed. I’m asking for you help and small donation would be greatly appreciated. We have the hospital bill broken down and it’s going to be over $4,500. I also ask that you keep birdie in your payers and just some positive thoughts for her. Thank you,❤️
