This page is dedicated to paying homage to Talon Lee Carsten, also known productionally as Birdclaw.
As Talon’s Dad, I first and foremost want to let everyone know how incredibly thankful our family is for the abundant outpouring of love from all of you, near and far. It is amazing and overwhelming to see the impact my son had on the lives of so many people. Talon was truly an angel lent to us by God. All of my children have been an enormous source of joy in my life. The memories that everyone has shared confirm what a remarkable legacy Talon leaves behind.
Talon’s ambitions surpassed most people’s wildest dreams. Not only did those ambitions live inside him, but Talon successfully displayed those ambitions in the way he lived his life. His list of accomplishments is as long as his beautiful hair (if not longer). Talon had grown into his own unique representation of life – he possessed an endless passion for music, a profound desire to constantly create, and an unmatchable vigor for life. Anyone that encountered Talon was forced to look within themselves, and question what their own passions were and why they weren’t pursuing those passions harder. Talon’s positivity and love for life spread like wildfire, and we are so grateful for his influence on everyone he met.
We have been struggling with how to mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul. We know that everyone will mourn in their own way, and in their own time. We can find consolation in the fact that Talon was living his dream and had achieved so much of exactly what he wanted in his short life here on Earth. We find comfort knowing he will be celebrating eternity with his Heavenly Father.
It is in our hearts not to mourn, but to celebrate Talon’s exceptional life. Talon would want us to dance, smile through our tears, and to make music together in celebration of his life and accomplishments.
We have created this page for everyone that has said, “If you need anything or if we can help in any way…” Unfortunately, the grief we are experiencing is devastating and there will forever be a piece of our hearts missing. However, listed below are ways that will help lift our emotional burden at this time:
1. We encourage you to share your memories – post your favorite picture or a song that reminds you of Talon via this link on Facebook or when you kindly make a donation through Go Fund Me. Our family has been deeply moved and found healing in your posts. We will use these memories and photos in Talon’s services.
2. In lieu of flowers and cards, we ask that you donate here to this Go Fund Me account. This fund will be used for two purposes:
a. A celebration reception immediately following Talon’s services. We want this to be a time for rejoicing, sharing memories, laughing, and listening to music just as Talon would’ve wanted us to do.
b. Any funds not used for a celebration reception will go toward brining Talon to his final place of rest. The financial burden incurred to bring Talon home has been significant, and any type of donation will help.
Most importantly, we want everyone to celebrate Talon’s extraordinary life with us. We will be posting service arrangements as soon as we are able to finalize. Thank you for the love, prayers and support for our family. We appreciate every single one of you. Please hold and cherish your loved ones as much as humanly possible.
