BIPOC MOCO Green New Deal Internship
Donation protected
BIPOC youth are fighting to save the climate and win social justice in MOCO. Will you support them?
Each semester since June 2021, the BIPOC MOCO Green New Deal Internship has
paid $500 stipends to 20-25 BIPOC high school youth from MOCO to learn
about the climate crisis and the interconnected crises facing our County of racism,
health care, housing, jobs, food security and so many others.
They learn the facts directly from the organizations in MOCO already fighting for
justice. They learn social change skills, including nonviolent direct action, to solve
these problems and make MOCO a better place for us all. In only a year, the Interns
and their young allies have formed the cutting edge of the MOCO climate justice
movement. Each semester, they organize one or more large protests and earn
widespread publicity for these issues. They shine a particular spotlight on the shortcomings of the Montgomery County Public Schools System.
Your contributions will go entirely for stipends for BIPOC high-school students in MOCO. The National Institute for Peer Support, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, registered with the
IRS (EIN 20-1398650) already has funding for our summer interns. Your tax-deductible
donations will allow us to continue this innovative program into the next school year.
