I have some news that might come as a shock. Last week I went into hospital for a colonoscopy and unfortunately the results were not good. They found cancer in a tumor that requires immediate treatment. Due to its size and location, I’ll need chemotherapy and radiation to shrink it before any surgery can be done. At this point, I’m getting further scans and am about to learn about the chemo required. I know I have a long road ahead which I am taking one step at a time.
For me and my family, the timing of this couldn’t be worse on the back of my recent engagement to my partner, Tennelle. Thankfully we have a solid support network and are leaning on each other as we navigate this.
As you can imagine I’m still coming to terms with it all but taking the time and pragmatic approach you’re all used to with me. My goal is to tackle this head on while continuing to live life to the fullest as much as I can.
I’m raising funds to cover chemotherapy and radiation therapy along with any additional tests, drugs or scans not covered by insurance or Medicare. It’s hard battling this diagnosis, let alone having the financial concerns that go with it. I’d appreciate your support - many people ask how they can help and this is how. Thank you in advance.
