Biman Ghoshal's Memorial
My father had been fighting cancer for the past 6 months, which he developed as a result of prolonged chronic pancreatitis that left him disabled and homebound since 2001. Having previously been part of the dynamic startup eBay in Silicon Valley, his promising career was halted by a surgical injury sustained after a routine procedure to remove gall stones. As a result, his health continued to decline, even though he tried to keep working. An additional severe setback a few years later made it impossible to work any longer. He passed away early morning on Christmas Day, surrounded by his family. We are proud of him for fighting so hard, and are glad that his suffering has finally ended. Despite his myriad of illnesses, he remained a source of emotional and moral support for us.
As dad's illnesses became more severe, his care requirements changed and my family spent the majority of our time administering round the clock care. My mother and I have not had time to work as much as needed to maintain our family finances and do not have any savings for a situation like this. His disability, the hurdles of medicare and affording co-pays for crucial medications have put an inordinate amount of pressure on us and have left us with nothing.
With your help we will be able to:
Offset the loss in income with his passing and pay our rent while we get back on our feet
Pay medical bills
Travel back to India to complete the ceremonial scattering of his ashes in the Ganges River as per our family's faith
We are grateful for any contributions and appreciate your support for our family through this loss.
