Hi, I’m Jess and I’m a volunteer for the wonderful Little Paws Cat Haven.
We are a small cat rescue based in Penn, Wolverhampton. We are currently in the process of becoming a registered charity. Our extensive work can be seen on our Facebook page.
Billy, affectionately known as Billy Whizz, came into our care after he had been locked in a house by his “owner” who went on holiday. He was one of 4 kittens found with their mom, who was sadly in an awful state. One kitten had tragically died in the time that they had been so cruelly left alone. Billy and his 2 siblings were found severely malnourished and dehydrated. Billy was then found to have an oesophageal stricture and severe oesophagitis. Despite now being well over a year old, Billy is still the same size as a 6 month old kitten.
On February the 23rd this year, Billy had an oesophageal blockage that resulted in respiratory arrest. This then resulted in aspiration pneumonia. Since this episode Billy has had multiple other blockages which we now believe is caused by hair ingestion as he is constantly grooming.
Today (27th April) he is at the vets for a scan and if he is well enough, an endoscopy for further investigation and to plan treatment to give Billy the best chance at recovery. We also suspect he is anaemic which will also need treating.
We have been so far estimated a cost of £1300 for these investigations.
We are so grateful for any support towards these vets bills. Any £1 really does help and would mean we have some assurance that the financial element is one less thing for the lovely Di (the big boss and Billy’s foster mom) to have to worry about.
Thank you for reading and for your support. ❤️
